ONE OF THE LAST
GREAT HUMAN
MYSTERIES

Ricky travels deep into the Brazilian Amazon, to the edge of one of the most isolated regions on Earth, searching for an answer to a question few dare to ask: who are the last uncontacted peoples on Earth, and what connects us across worlds that never meet?

Because contact with these protected communities is forbidden, Ricky traces the hidden food systems that exist at the edges of their territories. How ingredients sustain nearby communities and ripple outward into the modern world, from remote rainforest villages to the streets of Sao Paulo.

What emerges is not just a story about food, but about connection: an invisible thread linking remote ecosystems to modern life, and the past to the present.

The pilot route is locked. A portion of every pledge goes directly toward supporting the local and Indigenous communities the series engages with during production.

TWO HALVES OF
ONE TRUTH

Off The Table exists to close the distance between people through shared meals and common language. Every episode is built from two complementary experiences.

01

The Table

Ricky uses food as access. Speaking the language and understanding the context, he enters spaces most travellers never reach. Kitchens, street stalls, family tables, where conversations move quickly past pleasantries into lived realities. The camera does not observe from a distance. It sits at the table.

02

The Conversation

Back in New York, Ricky and director Mark Dearborn unpack the journey across a table at a neighbourhood bar, drinks in hand, replaying the experience. What did we miss? What did we misunderstand? What assumptions did we bring with us? The meaning is tested and reshaped through the dialogue.
